Silly Metaphor Time

Things have been going more uphill than downhill lately. I'm generally in a good mood, and good things have been happening lately. But climbing up that hill is much harder than crashing downwards. I don't have no cloud to float me up there. It's just me and my labor. I've actually been doing things to keep up my good spirits. I'm afraid, though, that I'll lose my footing and slip again.

"Happiness is a choice," but it's so hard. Especially since I'm pessimistic by nature.

So I did  go on that date Thursday. Sarah told me that she needed to pick up medical papers for the Navy. So we met at Dairy Queen even thought she took the long way through traffic. I was planning to pay for her order, but decided against it when I saw that she already had the money out.

We took our time though. We chatted for probably over half an hour, though most of it was probably about our animals. But it was cool. I got some one on one time with her and it was real easy going and not awkward at all.

The only problem was that a little girl, boy, and a man whom I would assume was their father, kept glancing and staring at us and laughing and giggling. I don't think Sarah noticed, but it was weird to me.

Sarah's still with YooJin though, despite the fact that she was cheating on Sarah. I want to tell Sarah to just dump her ass but I don't think that that's such a good idea. I guess if I'm really serious about this I just gotta stay vigilant. Be there for her, hang out with her, throw hints. I'm thinking that's my best bet.

Before the date, during practice, Mom called my phone and demanded I come back home immediately so that she could go out with her friends. I was a little worried that she would be pissed off at me for not coming straight home, but apparently the kids weren't picked up until ten after six, despite the fact that they were dropped off at the time I set off for school. Dad had come home by that to watch Ben and Joe so that Mom had a vehicle. But that meant hamburgers for dinner ... not that I ate hamburger.

Friday was pretty awesome, too. I had to wake up early for practice, and I think I made Coach Keely a little angry at me, but the night was much better. We watched The Last Exorcism, which confused both of us at the end. By the time it was over, we took it back to Movie Planet and got two new ones.

Tyler works there now.... It was extremely weird seeing him again. I thought he was gone forever after he graduated two years ago. Stupid freshman. I was a stupid freshman.

Anyway, we watched Mom's movie as soon as we got home. I just forgot what it was about ... even though it was better than the horror movie. This is going to bug me now.

OH! I forget what it was called, but it was about this woman that needed to get away to write a script. The house in which she stayed had these old tapes and Alice - the writer - had to discover their secret. The ending confused me beyond belief.

Saturday I had to wake up early again for field hockey. It was our double header against Forest Hills. I was a little afraid of this day because Forest Hills was undefeated in our division, and we were their last games. This was pretty much a fight for the divisional title. Thankfully it was on our home turf, but I still feared that we would lose.

Forest Hills fought hard and quite physically, but Dexter still came out on top. The first game almost ended very badly for us, but pure luck (and Gillis) saved us from their offensive push. We were jumping up and down with fearful anticipation as Forest Hills assaulted our circle. I was so relieved when the clock ran out, man. And excited.

In the second game we played much, much better. We were on their side for the majority of the time, and we got a nice three goal lead after about half of the game. Flocken's spectacular second goal was quite amazing, though. Reverse stick shot! We successfully played no goal patrol the second game, despite the fact that we got a couple corners called on us.

I got to play a fair amount that day. I learned (probably re-learned) some techniques, but I don't think I had any awesome pulls or anything. Pulls are kind of becoming a regular thing for me now. ^^ I'm proud. There was a point in which I was fighting over the ball with a Forest Hills player, and I eventually got it away from her and to Flocken. That was nice. I also think I got the ball in a position so that one of our offensive players could break away.

It was hot, though. I was sweating all over the place. And I was dead tired for the second half of the second game. That tiredness stayed with me for the rest of the day.

But we won. Now all we have to do is toss down Farmington Hills tomorrow and shut out Regina at home on Friday. Then we win the division undefeated (totally possible) and Dexter is division three next year. Next week we got to show the field hockey world what we can really do. O.O I'm scared. XD

Later on Saturday, Mom pulled out the Halloween decorations. I went crazy with sticking thumb tacks in the walls and hanging that fake cobweb all over the place. I have it in the stairwell, in the basement hallway hanging from the ceiling and walls, and stretched over a wall with the clock. I also hung up lights around the media corner. That hand we found at Value World is hanging out of one of the holes in the ceiling. Mr. Bones is also out on display. Overall, the basement is a little creepy.

After everything was hung up, I watched The Blair Witch Project. I really don't understand why everyone thought it was so scary. At the end I asked out loud if that was it. Uh, yes, it's the end.

I finally got to sleep in on Sunday. I took full advantage, waking up past eleven. It felt so nice to catch up.

I had planned to do my homework and college application yesterday, but I never did. I looked at my Chemistry and Physics, tossing it aside. For French, I said screw it and didn't even look at it. I don't know why I didn't finish my app.

That was about the extend of that day.

And this morning, I didn't want to come to school. Is it bad to say I'm sick of it already?

Plus, I can't play indoor soccer with my field hockey team. I will play indoor field hockey, though. I love my field hockey. Gillis is already begging me to join lacrosse, too. And if I really can work off that fee and use her stick, I actually might. I just want to do stuff this year before I go off to college. And then it'll take me forever to get used to that.

Speaking of doing things, I was planning to have my birthday party next weekend, but then yesterday Flocka posted that we're having a field hockey sleepover at her house that weekend, and I can't miss that. That'll be interesting, I suppose, and probably a lot of fun. I wonder how big her house is if we're all going to fit in her house....

I'll figure everything out eventually. I just gotta stay happy.

SONG OF THE DAY: Yes ~ LMFAO
