What A Weekend

It was kind of funny how many field hockey players I see through the hallways. Everyone also looks so different in there than outside when beating the ball around because of the clothes they wear and how the have their hair. There were some people it took me a while to realize were actually on my team. So why did I finally notice on Friday? Well, we had to wear our maroon practice shirts to school, because we're the team's biggest promoters. It was two of the people on the team that actually got me into field hockey, so yeah, I agree.

German's actually not my favorite class this trimester. Of course, Art would have always taken priority over the class, but I don't like Frau Schmid. I don't like the way she teaches, already. Already I had gotten a lot of homework in Chemistry (mostly because I want to get ahead in the class so I can stay ahead and stuff--make it easier for me to keep up with my homework if I get swamped again) and Calc, and then Frau Schmid gives us a lot of homework again, utilizing something that Frau Z had never used. I was working through it today, and I realize four of the things she gave us to do, we had never learned. I'm not going to try and do it, in case I do something hurtful to the learning process, and tell Frau Schmid that we never learned. I could even bring in my two inch thick folder from the two previous years of German to prove myself. Oh, maybe it's only an inch and a half.

Friday after practice I did manage to get my Calc done. But when I got home, I didn't really do much because dinner was almost finished. I kind of just caught up on dA, which is getting hard to do now, sometimes. It's amazing how much I get in my activity box each day. Then I ate dinner, and after dinner I drove to the library to drop off my books, then to the Pharmacy to get an ankle brace that fits, and then to Busch's to get a gift for my secret buddy in field hockey. When I got home, I think around eight, I finally got to tackling the math. Finished it, and after that I went to bed. Chemistry and German weren't even touched.

Saturday I planned to get my Chem done, but after waking up at an annoyingly early time, I had to get ready for field hockey, and we left the house by ten thirty. All of us. Ben and Joe included. Then we had a two hour drive to Grand Rapids, where the game was, and it took us forty-five minutes to find the field hockey field I was playing at. I was late, according to what time he wanted us there, but I didn't miss anything besides the team's jog around the field. I quickly caught up with everyone.

It pretty much rained all day, but it wasn't as bad as that day we had three games at Saline. I was able to play on the field a lot more than the game at Greenhills, and better yet, the team won! Forest Hills didn't even have a chance to get a shot in. Well, it could be in part that they sucked. The clumped together like a JV team, not utilizing the space on the field. At one point when I got the ball, I had to get through three of them within yards, and Megan had to get through five. Then we got to hang out at our cars during the JV game, to dry off and get warm. It was nice. At pretzels, made everyone else uncomfortable because of the heat in the car, but I was cold and wet. It's not like I can wear a sweatshirt in the game or anything, or even when I'm pulled out.

So then after that I got on the field again, wearing the correct uniform after two changes, and we went to play another game. Each team did better. At least, at first. Forest Hills managed to get a goal, and we got in seven goals, whereas the first game I think we only got three in. There goalie wasn't that great, either. She stayed on the line, leaving nine yards for us to score in, pretty much. Nine or six? Mmm . . . The only thing I didn't like about that game was that the coaches were starting to get brave and put the Varsity defense as forwards, and I got stuck as a Wing. I had no idea where to go, I didn't know how to play the position, and after those switch-ups, most of the play was right on Sara. But we all did well enough to keep Forest Hills from scoring.

The day was alright, then. Dexter won all three games that day, I got to wear pajama bottoms and my home jersey to a Mexican restaurant for dinner after the games, I found out Megan's mom makes excellent cookies, and when I got home at ten, I didn't even think of homework. I watched some random show for a little while, and then went to bed.

It was today I worked on my homework. Pretty much all day, except I haven't been so studious and stuff. I got my Chemistry homework for Monday finished early, did most of my German (said the story above), and now I'm working on the homework for Tuesday. I'm just typing this up because I don't know the conversion ratio needed for a question, and I don't feel like looking all of the book just yet. I've been working on deleting old things from my laptop that is only taking up space. Kind of like a spring cleaning sort of thing. And I've told myself I'm going to watch that music awards thing on MTV later tonight. I'm not the biggest fan of newer music, but maybe I'll discover something more that I'll like. Actually, it was Linkin Park that caught my eye. Haha.

Also today I downloaded some brushes off of dA. They're meant for Photoshop, but I'm hoping that GIMP might be able to open them, because I'm a cheapo and use the freebie stuff. Not that GIMP is bad. My gosh, it's excellent. And I though RealWorldPaint.Net was good. Nah, GIMP is like Photoshop, but free. And most of my digital art has been made off of it now. Not that I have time for digital art anymore, with balancing sports, homework and school now. I wonder how people stick jobs in there, too. It doesn't make much sense as to how they can. For me, at least. I used to wonder, though, how people coped with sports. *shrug* I'm certainly enjoying it, though. I'm not so great at field hockey, but I do love it. And I made it to Varsity, so I've got to have something. I'm still Varsity team. So far.

Did I mention a while ago this number pattern thing I've been trying to figure out for years? I think I have. I never posted it, though, I remember. Now I shall, just because I'm nerd-ish that way (though I'm more of a geek), and because I like it. ^^ I wonder if anyone else who hasn't seen it before would understand it.

My feet are starting to fall asleep.

Last night, I just remembered, another one of my light bulbs went out in my overhead light in my room. The other one went out a long time ago, when Kyra was over, and we caught that spider while we were watching some movie, so went to get the magnifying glass from my desk. So my dad and I went and put that in last night, and one of the ones we put it, it was burnt out as well, and since we don't have another 60 watt bulb, I have an even brighter one up there--and boy it's bright. It's weird having my room so bright. I went from having one 60 watt bulb to one 60 bulb and (I think) an 80 watt bulb. *blink* Anyway, random information. I should get doing something else again. I just can't do one thing for long today.

  1. Is that number pattern thing one of those puzzles where you have to figure out what the object of the puzzle before solving it? I hate puzzles within puzzles!

  2. There isn't that much to the puzzle, really. You just have figure out what the pattern is, and it really is a pattern, and then it goes on forever, pretty much. Not much thinking once you have it all understood.
