Time is a Resource

Many people fail to notice that time is a valuable resource. After all, without it, nothing would ever get done, yes? Not only is it a valuable resource, but I would say it's a scarce resource. One only has so much of it, after all.

But that's more or less an economics argument, and I could have gladly failed Econ class if ... well, I didn't pay attention. Since I did, I got a fair grade. Actually, I don't think I ever payed attention. The teacher had a habit of repeating himself every day for a week, every week. I got a lot of social time in and/or reading time.

I bring this up because the beginning of this week is/was our final exams, and on Wednesday we start a new trimester. I know for a fact that I have AP Calc and French I B, as well as Adv Chem: Analysis for fifth hour. The other two classes I haven't a clue over and the first two classes I mentioned I have no idea when they take place. I already have people asking me which lunch I have. I don't even know which class or teacher I have! Give me a break.

On top of that, I work all week from Tuesday to Friday. Since Ben more or less left except for the weekends - and he being our best bread stick maker - I'm not dubbed the fastest and best bread stick maker and will probably get stuck with that duty nearly every night. Which means late nights at work unless it's so slow we get to nap on our feet or tear our ear drums out, whichever you prefer. Oh, or make bread sticks of course, seeing as that's the most time consuming duty.

Anyway, before I go forward with that idea, I'd like to state the happenings at the ARBA show this weekend.

I woke up at six o'clock Saturday morning, grabbed my rabbit, picked up my friend, and we were on our way. I found a rabbitry from which I have two rabbits (Clover and Jillian - a terrible rabbit and a great rabbit), got directions from the couple, and signed up Dozer for the two shows. She got disqualified in the first show. When Olivia and I returned to our little corner, we opened up the standard of perfection I had just bought and discovered that lynxes are not supposed to have a blue under color. That's an automatic disqualification. When I bought Dozer, I was told that she had beautiful color, nigh perfect. Either she changed when molting into her senior coat, or they lied to me. She's not showable.

I did, however, buy another lynx buck. He doesn't look very great conformation-wise, but that should even out fine with Jillian's body. He does have correct coloring. I just need to figure out how to eliminate the blue band in future litters from Dozer, seeing as that's something I certainly don't want passing on. I want a frickin' show rabbit.

So I stayed up for twenty-four hours on Saturday and was only awake for seven hours on Sunday, half of which was spent at work.

Which brings me back to the topic of time.

See that list on the side there? That's not even close to a complete list of the projects I have going on. Those are just things I can't really forget about. Though it's funny that about a third of it now is HA-RPG stuff.

So, I'm currently working on the training picture for Cherry so that I can start up a story line for my stable. I read through a very helpful book (despite the fact that I had to sift through English lingo that isn't used in the US), and I feel like I can actually role play this out. Now I'm afraid that I won't be able to get any picture done without at least ten hours of work. Y'all know how I love my photo realism in my work, right? It's getting ridiculous with all the time I don't have. I spent about half an hour touching up the nose to this horse on the picture and I won't settle for anything less. The lines are so sloppy I couldn't even dream of keeping them on semi-transparency.

I'll end up doing this for ever. single. picture listed for HA-RPG on the side there. *facedesk* Why must my style - still rather sloppy and choppy, by the way - be so time consuming? I'd be better off with traditional art, despite the fact that I can't squeeze in as many details. Maybe I should try that for the fox hunting, though the three stage competition pictures are due first.
