So, uh, I meant to update about every day the past week, but I never really found the time to do it. Well, I probably could have found the time, but I found reading a much more appealing alternative, so put off the journal writing for me to struggle with it later. I'm such a great person to myself, ja? *snicker*
I just realized that the five hundred words or so that I wrote (and deleted) is a repeat of my last journal, so apparently I didn't lose track of time that badly. *snort* So I'll start with where I left off, I guess.
Sunday I had to be at the Chelsea fair to pick up Dozer to take her home. But apparently, when I got there, I couldn't just take her and leave; I had to help clean up the tent as well. So putting her in the truck so that she was out of the way, I helped dismantle the cages, clean up the poop, etc. Later, about forty minutes in or whatever, Katrina came along to take her rabbits away. She went up to the two mini Rexes of hers, and mentioned the buck, but instead of going to the black one, she went to the chocolate. Jumping on the chance, I asked her if the chocolate was not a doe, as the sign said. Taking the rabbit out, she checked and confirmed that he was indeed a buck. Suddenly excited, I remembered counting through the money in my wallet earlier, and instead of having the twenty she was asking for, I admitted that I really did want him, but only had eleven dollars. She exclaimed sold, then handed the rabbit over to me. So he's now mine.
I named him Marvin. So now I have my buck and my doe, and I plan to breed them either late December or early January. Probably on the second of January or something. They'd be born in February and sellable in April.
They bunnies won't be fully pedigreed because Marvin doesn't have one himself, but at least they'd be pure bred, hopefully most or all will be lynxes, and I should get some money for them to buy a better buck. I also might keep a lynx buck and breed him back to Dozer later if I can't find a more suitable buck, and then those bunnies would have more in their pedigree than if it was just to Marvin. *shrug* I dunno yet.
Thursday Dexter Field Hockey had a game against Ann Arbor Pioneers. Our team was freaking out. Pioneer is one of the best teams in the state, and last time we didn't do so badly against them, but we were on our home field. This year we were playing on their turf. Although later we discovered that their football team was to play on their field and we were playing on grass. Once we got there, the game was hard.
I played most of the time as left high defense. We were playing with an anchor, which was Caitlin, two defensive mids, and an offensive mid. We had two wings, and thirteen minutes in, they were able to score against Pioneer. Our team flipped out, but just because we were one up on Pioneer did not guarantee our safety.
After half time, Pioneer got viscous. At one point one girl came up from behind me in the circle and barreled me over. Pissed off, when I got up, I realized a corner was called on me (even though I didn't even know she was behind me until I was on the fucking ground), and I had to run all the way to the fifty yard line. Then sprint back to help out defense.
Some time during the second half, Pioneer scored a goal to tie us up, but we had been one up on them for forty minutes. Six minutes before the end of the game, Pioneer scored another goal on us. But for the most part, Dexter hadn't done badly at all.
I blame most of it on the refs. They weren't so bad during the first half of the game, but the second half hardly anything was called for Dexter. We got corner after corner called on us, whenever Pioneer stick hacked us, Dexter was called (that one pissed me off), and Pioneer was able to advance because of the refs. I think if the refs had actually been fair against us, Dexter might have tied the game with Pioneer.
The same thing actually happened with Saline. The refs had it against us. They might not have been as bad as the Pioneer refs, but we had a lot of calls on us, allowing Saline to continue with their dangerous hits, drives, and nasty playing. Oh yes, Saline moved the ball, but they moved it right through Dexter players less than a yard away. I'm surprised they didn't fell one of our players.
We lost that game, too, but the goal they scored against us was a defensive mistake. Only Kayla was running after the ball on one of their hits, and once it got past her, only Sarah was really there to stop the ball. *shakes head* We definitely should have tied that game.
But even though we've been losing, we've been doing awesome. We scored on Pioneer and only lost by one point to them, and we lost by one point to Saline. Pioneer is division I, Saline division II, I believe. We're still division IV. Dexter FH is definitely making its mark on the field hockey world. Once we get to playing our division, we're going to crush them. I mean, we did that to half of the teams last year, and I think we're doing better this year. Forest Hills is going to be screwed.
So, uh, that's field hockey and the rabbits.
And really, I don't want to write about much more right now.
Was kann ich sagen? Nichts. XD
