Up in the Peninsula

I haven’t written a journal in so long, that I didn’t write a single one last month. In fact, it was the first time that I haven’t written at least one journal inside of a month since I started this thing. Which means … well, I’m not really sure. I guess I just won’t recall the whole month of June or anything that happened in it. Thankfully it wasn’t all too exciting of a month. It’s not like we did much or whatever. Oh well.

But we’re on vacation now, so that means I really should write, otherwise I won’t remember a single thing of what we did or anything. I think I’ve written at least one recapping journal per vacation for a very, very long time. I didn’t do anything for Maine or whatever, but I think I wrote one for Tennessee and maybe even Colorado. I did many long ago when we went to Mackinac Island and camping and whatnot when Joe was young. But meh. I should get to writing what happened. Not that a lot has happened yet. Sort of.

So on Saturday we left our beloved rabbits (and birds) behind and we headed up to Grandma Gordon’s. Not a lot happened there, really. Billy, Aaron, Jenny, Joe, Ethan, Madelyn and I all played basketball for the night, and us girls kicked the guys’ butts. I mean, we weren’t keeping score or anything, but the three of us worked together quite well, I must say. Apparently I got a ton of compliments on how well I played or something. Although, honestly, I have no idea why. I was a wee bit violent, but there shouldn’t be any surprise about that. More with Joe, who insisted on covering me despite the fact that he was as light as a feather. I typically covered Billy and/or Aaron when he was playing.

We have cot bunk things now, that we got at Cabella’s for Grandma’s house, and the things do a lot for un-filling our little tiny room that we often occupy. And apparently we’re on some sort of switching order or something, because Joe was sleeping under me for the first night. My dear! I got kicked in the back so many times, and the cot bunk wouldn’t stop shaking because Joe just can’t stay still. I wanted to get off the top and kick him back. ‘Cause no matter what I did, he wouldn’t stop. Not the best night of sleep I ever got.

Sunday Mom and I went to town simply because we could and because we wanted to get away from Bethany and Noah. Oh, and Kirk. Nearly everyone else is alright. So we went to WalMarts, grabbed a couple things, went to RadioShack for an ear phone splitter. And between that time we went to Tractor Supply to pass time. I’ve been looking for rabbit tattoo clamps so that I can show Doe-Eye at the Chelsea fair, but the ones at Tractor Supply are too large. So the dude we asked said that we could find them  at a vet supply store. Dunno why I didn’t think of that before….

Monday we left fairly early to go up to Grandma and Grandpa Pawloski’s. We missed Dana and Eric because we spent two nights at Grandma G’s, though. That was more than a little disappointing. I suppose the bright side of Sunday was the fact that I got to have some of Billy’s music. Did I say some? I meant I had to erase almost all of the videos off of my laptop to make space for the music.

*sigh* This isn’t a very long journal, but it’s bedtime, apparently. Hotel rooms are awesome that way. So, uh, I’ll have to continue writing tomorrow, I suppose.
