Those Midnight Ideas

I have to try and stay focused on what I wrote the title down to be, because otherwise I'm not going to be able to post this on deviantART. I just brought over a journal from there, blatantly stated that it was from there so that the content of it would be understood, and just posted it. Now I have to make sure that I don't go off on a random tangent so that I can do the exact opposite and get something fresh as my journal on there. While I may be paying some attention to this journal again, it doesn't mean that I'm going to have the same exact things on here as on deviantART. They're two completely different pieces.

Enough of an intro.

I know that I've mentioned some ideas coming from my midnight ideas. I recently found a button that I posted on my gallery that says "Why do I come up with all the good art at 1:00AM?!" Well, that's a good question, because I have that same problem. But I was thinking about it, and it makes sense.

My first midnight idea that I took action upon was that TMNT fanfic. While it's not such a great piece right now, I still admit that it has substance to it, and if I really wanted to, I could start anew and make a better storyline. It's different from everything else I've ever read. My second idea that I remember was for the New Nation. The story line idea (which I realized after reading a Wolverine comic that it wasn't so original), the graphics, everything worked out in my head. Everything technical, really. I forgot half of it by morning, but the site has been successful. Still getting new members--more commonly than before. My Nightcrawler painting, I think, came from a midnight idea, too. Well, it's still in the making, but I have most of it done. And recently my Gambit picture I'm working on came from a midnight idea as well, even though it sprouted off of a thread I have with Neko on the NN. Most of that I've already said before.

The only reason I come to this now is because I found another deviation on deviantART that had in the comments how it was a nightmare. While mine aren't exactly dreams, they are still my brain thinking, and that's what dreams are. Subconscious thoughts. That's why most midnight ideas are really symbolic; that's how our brain works.

So why is it that we artists and writers have midnight ideas? Or our best art comes to us at one in the morning? Because we give our brains time to slow down and think about what's important to us.

It's obvious, really!

Although, I'm a pretty technical, literal and scientific thinker most of the time. But I do have creative sparks every now and again.
