Wash It Down

Haha, so, seriously, I shouldn't have much to write about because it's not that far into the day yet or anything, and I wrote a journal quite late last night, but you know, I have to get some journals down. And besides, I do have something to write about, even if it's not that much. Well, the more I think about it, the more I have to write. So, *shrug*

Well, anyway, it's raining now. And not just a sput sput here and a pitter patter there. No, it's pouring. Like, if you step outside you'll get drenched within seconds. How do I know? Well, I did it.

Since I'm in a high school sport now, there's a ton of paperwork that's due today, so we had to go to the library today to print something off and then make a few copies of some of the more important stuff. It was a little bit dark in the sky, a lots muggy, but nothing new, y'know? Just the same old stuff. And by golly, the pool's the only thing that changed. It's actually mostly pretty now! But anyway, we did that at the library, and then Mom said that we had to go to Morning Star to pick up her check or something, so I drove us there. Then she and Joe went inside to fetch the stuff, and about as soon as they left it started raining. That was the drip drop stuff. But after a while it got harder and harder, and in order to look through the windshield I had to turn the wipers up higher and higher. They finally emerged from the building when the rain was coming down just as hard as it is now. *sniggers* And they were pretty wet getting into the truck.

Undeterred, I drove around the parking lot, into the road and onward to home. It's kind of weird going thirty-five down a road where you normally go fifty-five, but once I got up to forty, the truck wasn't a walk in the park. So thirty-five it was. Then we got up the driveway obstacles, parked and just sat in the truck for a few moments, looking out. The rain hadn't slowed the least bit. If anything, it might have gotten worse. But then Joe got Ben out of his car seat and they streaked down the sidewalk onto the porch. Well, Ben dilly-dallied, but he's, like, two.

Then I picked up the papers, stuck them under my shirt, and at the same time Mom and me ran down the sidewalk. Halfway to the door I lost my shoe, but since I had the papers and I was getting wetter by the second, it's kinda still out there where it flung off my foot. So I got into the house and took the other one off and laughed. Uncontrollably. It was awesome.

But, yeah, it's raining. I hope it still won't be by the time I need to be at field hockey practice. *shivers* I can't wait, but I'm scared at the same time.

Ah, now it's slowing down a wee bit.

Right, so last night Mom and I finally decided that it was about time to give the pool some attention, so we went out there and started cleaning it. It was disgusting, seeing all of the green and colored gunk going down the hose of the vacuum, but it was amusing at the same time. We didn't even get halfway finished in what I think was over an hour. I didn't time ourselves or anything. So then afterward I dumped the rest of the algae control into the pool and a whole gallon of chlorine, 'cause it worked. And then it was done for the night.

So this morning I looked out, and the dang thing is nearly clean. It's quite amazing. It'll still probably be slimy, so I can't count my chickens before they hatch, but hoo-yah! Just a few more things to do to the pool and all will be a-okay.

Well, that's about it, then. There wasn't much to say. I still have to call Sarah and then maybe Maura to see if they could give me rides to and from field hockey practices on Monday and Thursday. At least, from one of the practices on each day and then to.

Thunder?

Anyway, all done!
