Putter Downer

Yeah, I'm a putter downer. It was all fine in astronomy today, 'cause I was able to cut out the rest of my stars for Cygnus and hang them (even if not completely correctly) on Mr. Kimmey's ceiling. For some reason, the magnitudes of the stars seem off, but since it was Kimmey that found the apparent magnitudes and told me to use those instead of absolute, I'm not going to say anything. And I think that's gonna be the last time I stand on a desk, 'kay?

History was alright for once, though. We just had a little bookwork and then took some notes on the worksheet. I had to rush downstairs to my locker before the bell rang to get my book, but I made it to class on time.

Biology was the worst hour, though. We had a test today, and two of the questions at the end sounded nearly the same, so I put trisomy in both places. Either one or both are wrong. *shrugs* But it was a short test, and I think I did fairly well. I've had enough good fortune lately, so I don't want to ask the Air for any more, though. Uhm . . . but it was after the test that Mr. Rafail was checking in all of the work we were supposed to do the last week and stuff, and my head just hasn't been in school lately, so I hardly did any of it. Mr. Rafail actually said I was the last person he expected that from, and he miraculously granted me the rest of the week to finish it with no penalty. See? It's a good thing to be a quiet, in-the-corner suck-up; teachers like you better, and you get away with more stuff. I . . . I just got to stop pushing my luck. I need to find more self-motivation, I just gotta figure out where to find it.

So I went to lunch, had tacos, and I have to bring a couple quarters so I can have lunch tomorrow, and then I was off to English. Since Ms. Livingstone is more of a teacher I can talk to, I wanted to ask her a few questions, and get a bearing of what I should do tomorrow. I pretty much am guessing that my laptop can connect to those stupid smartboards, 'cause Friedman and I are both doing powerpoints, and those powerpoints won't work correctly on a Mac. I hate Mac. And if the schools have Macs, they should at least have better Microsoft software so that the population that have Microsoft wouldn't have to worry about stuff like this. Sure, Macs are probably more user-friendly, but Microsoft's just . . . better. I grew up with it. I'm not switchin' now.

Then after English I went down to Autumn's room, got comfortable a little, and then was told I have to go off to a mysterious room 114. Having no idea of what I was doing, I walked down the hallway to where the 90/100 rooms are, feeling very self-conscious when the bell marked the end of passing time. I was, like, the only person in the hallways. When I came up to the room, no one but a couple other people looking for different rooms were there. Eventually Rachel Parr came around and took lead, and lead us right into the Orchestra Room (room 114), where we waited for a counselor. So now we have our scheduling information, and we have five days to schedule our junior years. Five days to decide the fate for the rest of our high school years, pretty much. Five days to . . . to figure out what we want to do. Five days for me to schedule an appointment with my counselor an appointment to help me figure out consortium! Das ist blöd! And maybe when I'm with him/her (I don't know my counselor), I can switch out of my fifth hour class for next trimester.

Anyway, I've put down two of my teachers. I like all of them this trimester, so I don't want to continue putting them down. I've got to pull myself together and clean up my act. I . . . I need a lot of sticky notes. I find sticky notes are a good way to pull together an to do list. I wonder what my desktop can do. . . . I have a sticky note application. Can I color code them?

I did learn recently that a Libra is a procrastinator, but this is outrageous. This isn't procrastinating, this is . . . rebellion! And technically, I'm not exactly a good rebellious person.

Arg.

So, for English I only need one more class, since last year I had Creative Writing and unintentionally got a credit for my junior/senior year. In math, I dunno if I want to take trig, calculus or . . . well, I need a full credit, so two classes in that area. In science I'm pretty sure I'm going to take chemistry, not physics. In history, well, they seem to have that pretty much planned out for me. I'm going to try for all of the art classes (which is a depressingly small amount) that I haven't gotten yet, and . . . I don't think, with consortium, I'll be able to do any more. *shrugs* I'll have to talk to Dad and see what he says about the math, and my counselor to see what she can figure out with consortium.

I gotta go and make meatballs now so I can make them in the future.
