Yeah, so, rabbits are currently my one and only life. Don't blame me. Blame them. It's all their fault.
For one, I decided I wanted to get into a digital rabbitry, so I'm currently working on that. First I need to draw and make up my does for the initial trio, and then I get to expand from there. I decided rabbits don't get enough attention on dA, so I'm expanding upon this rabbit role play game already created. Let's see how that goes. Although, before that goes anywhere, I need to figure out how it's going to be set up.
And digital-ness? That is absolutely nothing in comparison to real life rabbits.
Um, when I left off with my last journal, I had bought Cosmo. I bought Food after him - I'm going to butcher her next week and eat her. She's a young Californian, so she should gain mass quickly.
Then, a few days ago, I went down to Ohio (I hate Ohio) and bought myself another Mini Rex doe. This time, I bought her straight from Black River Rabbitry, and rabbitry well known for lynx Mini Rex. As well as reds and torts, but I only care about lynxes. When I was down there, she showed me nearly every single one of her lynxes. She brought out Saturn and showed him to me. That rabbit is famous, man. You buy a lynx in my district, you're bound to have him somewhere in your pedigree. Dozer has him twice in her three-generation pedigree, Gru had him once or twice, and Isis has him as well. Isis being the rabbit I just bought from her. Amazing fur. Then again, that's the reason I got her. She showed me Isis's daughter and granddaughter, I got to see Dozer's full sister, as well as other rabbits. It was a great learning experience. I learned a lot, especially about lynxes and how the color works. Pam, she's a phenotype person, and doesn't work with genotype. I'm the opposite, so it's nice to be able to put them together.
The only problem with buying Isis is that my parents aren't exactly happy with how many rabbits I have now. I have a dozen rabbits: Cashmere, Dozer, Cosmo, 1 (Mistah J), 2, 3, 4, 5, Jillian, Isis, Puddin, and Food. I'm currently trying to sell Dozer, 2, 3, 4, and 5, and am thinking of selling Cosmo. Despite the fact that I just bought him a month ago. I took him to his first show today, and the judge did not favor him. He got BOSV and BOSG, but that's only because he was one of two in his variety and I'm guessing the only buck of his group. Unfortunately for me, BOSG doesn't earn him a leg. XD There weren't enough rabbits in his variety for him to win him anything there. But shh. Don't tell anyone I would sell him to that it was poor competition for him to win those titles.
To compensate for the fact that I have these rabbits, though also because two of my hutches are falling apart, I've been working on building and rebuilding hutches this past week. I didn't really really plan on doing anything until Jillian squeezed her way into Dozer's space twice and got her ass kicked into the corner ... twice. That wall doesn't exist anymore, but that's only because it's been rainy and I haven't been able to replace the bottom crossbar to reinstall wire between the two doors. The place Cashmere was staying is going to be divided into three holes, big enough for junior Mini Rexes or Netherland Dwarfs. First I need to put in a floor, build dividers, and then install wire between the holes. I need to separate the buns, so I need that hutch built soon. I'd rather the buns be sold, though. Anyone watch me/sees this that wants a rabbit?
I had to eat and now I forget where this train of thought was going.
